About Biz Kidz Academy
Le’Chic Academy Foundation’s “Biz Kidz “ program engages young entrepreneurs in real-world business experiences, events and activities. Our mission is to inspire business-minded kids to creatively embrace their entrepreneurial spirit, lead confidently, think critically, and be financially responsible. Founded by Dr. Marlene Jackson and daughter, Ashley Jackson, Biz Kidz is a Christian-focused non-profit 501 (c) organization developed to empower kidpreneurs (Ages 5-18). Our mission is to empower young entrepreneurs with the guidance, resources, and tools required to be confident and self-assured decision makers. Frances Barber $500 Educational Scholarship Honoring the loving memory of an extraordinary mother and grandmother, Le’Chic Academy Foundation’s Biz Kidz Program is proud to announce its’ 2018 Frances Barber Educational Scholarship. Competing young entrepreneurs must provide proof of their current enrollment in a high school or other educational facility. While the majority of our foundation’s funding for educational scholarships currently comes directly out-of-pocket, our dream is to raise enough capital to continue to provide kidpreneur's with scholarships year round. We’re reaching out to sponsors to help us to raise enough capital to continue to provide financial support to kidpreneurs who seek higher education. High School – College Transition Program Biz Kidz is is is proud to announce the launching of our High School – College Transition Program. The program is a business-building platform created to build partnerships with higher learning institutions. The objective of the program is to provide college-level entrepreneurs with an additional resource tool to utilize with existing college business resources. College students will participate in individual and team building entrepreneurial projects as they gain valuable real-world lifelong learning skills including, goal setting, problem solving. Visit our website for more information. Biz Kidz In-Flight Program The Biz Kidz In-Flight Program is proud to announce our expansion into libraries throughout the U.S. and Canada. Atlanta In partnership with City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation, The Metropolitan Branch Library, East Atlanta Branch Library and a workshop series was offered to kidpreneurs in Atlanta. Biz Kidz Academy is proud to announce our expansion into Atlanta, GA. PR/Marketing Specialist, Tracy Lewis and Business Development Specialist, Dena Patrice spearhead the Biz Kidz Atlanta Region Program. In collaboration with Atlanta’s Public Library System, workshops are offered throughout various library branches. Workshop Completion Award Ceremonies are sponsored by Director, Melvin Coleman, Atlanta Black Chamber of Commerce (ABC). Canada In conjunction with The Niagara Falls Public Library, Biz Kidz will sponsor a one-day Vision Board Workshop on Saturday, October 5, 2019. During the workshop, aspiring young entrepreneurs will brainstorm business ideas. Based on their creative skills, talents, and interests. kidpreneurs will vividly display their business ideas and goals using images, word art, drawings, and more. Upon completion of this exciting workshop, you’ll will receive a “Workshop Completion Certificate” presented by the Niagara Falls Mayor’s Office. Comcast Cable Partnership Created for and by young entrepreneurs, Biz $tartup Kidz is a pioneering public access Comcast Cable TV Series. The series encourages savvy young entrepreneurs to promote their businesses and learn the nuts-and- bolts of what it takes to become TV Hosts, Script Writers, Interviewers, Announcers, and Public Speakers. Girl Scouts Partnership In partnership with The Girl Scouts of Central Maryland, Biz Kidz Academy offers a variety of business growth workshops and other opportunities. Girl Scout patches are earned by young entrepreneur girls who complete our Biz Kidz Workshop Series. |
